Spotify meets ChatGPT: Discover music with AI support
Spotify is taking the next step in personalized music recommendations and is now opening its platform directly to ChatGPT users. Both free and premium users can connect their Spotify account and discover and play music directly via ChatGPT.
How does it work?
Once you connect your Spotify account, you can simply ask ChatGPT for songs, artists, albums, playlists or podcasts.
for example: "Show me relaxing tracks for the evening" or "Create a playlist for my next road trip".
- Premium users receive completely personalized song suggestions based on their listening habits.
- Free users access existing playlists such as Discover Weekly.
With one click, you can listen to the song directly in Spotify.
Availability
The feature is currently available in 145 countries and works in English - both via web and mobile.
The connection is optional, and content from artists or podcasters is not shared with OpenAI for training purposes.
For artists and labels
For artists, the integration offers an exciting new way to make music directly visible in conversations.
You can have ChatGPT ask specifically for your current releases, playlists or podcasts so that they are displayed directly within the chat.
Even self-curated playlists - for example with your influences or new tracks - can be highlighted via ChatGPT and shared with listeners.
This creates a new, interactive way of discovering and promoting music.
New access to the world of music
The Spotify integration in ChatGPT blurs the boundaries between music streaming and AI interaction.
Instead of passively scrolling, music discovery becomes a conversation - dynamic, personal and direct.
