dig dis!cover with Frankyeffe

Hey Franky, so cool to e-meet you! How did you start making music? What inspired you in the beginning?
I started DJing when I was 20 or 21. I was very young and inexperienced at that time. Through my friends I met other producers and went to the studio with them to learn how to produce. For me it was very important to learn the world of DJs and the world of producing. At that time it was very important to gain as much experience as possible and learn from others. It was a lot of fun to spend so much time with them and then I just stuck with it.

Was it Techno from the start or did you start with other genres?
When I started producing, I was a bit confused and I haven't found my style yet. At the beginning it went into progressive house. Then I also followed the current trends for a while, but wasn't satisfied either. It took a while until I found the sound that I have today.

You've launched your label Riot Recordings back in 2020 and you’ve already had over 200 releases, which is a huge number. Did you ever think you would put out so many releases?
Yes, I always believed in it because I wanted to showcase the significance of my music and still want to show that to this day. I have a deep passion for music, both producing and performing it. After collaborating with various artists, I have come to realize the vast amount of music that can be released. That's why I strive to create an impressive collection and connect with people through it. Unfortunately, there are still many who are unfamiliar with my music and work, and I want to focus on spreading it further. I aim to curate the music that will be released on my label and provide a top selection.

What would you say is the sound or style of your label Riot Recordings?
The signature sound of Riot Recordings can be described as energetic, driving and melodic. We focus on releasing music that has a strong dancefloor influence, with powerful beats, captivating melodies and a sense of euphoria. We strive for a fusion of different electronic music genres, incorporating elements of techno, trance and progressive house. Our goal is to create a unique and unforgettable experience for listeners and clubbers.

It's great to see a label that combines different genres and creates a unique experience. Now, as an artist and label owner, what are some of the challenges you've faced in the music industry, and how have you overcome them?
The music industry is constantly evolving and there are always challenges to face. One of the biggest challenges I've faced is the ever-changing environment of digital music distribution and streaming platforms. It can be difficult to navigate and adapt to the rapid changes in technology and customer behavior. However, I have made a conscious effort to stay current and take advantage of new opportunities.
Another challenge is standing out in a crowded market. With so many talented artists and labels, it's important to find ways to stand out from the crowd and make a lasting impression.
It can also be challenging to find the right balance between artistic integrity and commercial success. As an artist, I always strive to make music that speaks to myself and stays true to my vision. However, I also understand the importance of reaching a wider audience and adapting to current trends. It's a constant process to find the right balance and stay true to my artistic values, but also be open to new things.

Now, looking towards the future, what are your goals and aspirations for your music career and Riot Recordings?
My goals and aspirations are to continue to develop as an artist. I want to explore new musical territories, experiment with different sounds, and collaborate with talented artists. I believe that artistic growth is a lifelong journey, and I strive to constantly challenge myself and expand my creative horizons.
My vision for Riot Recordings is to establish the label as a major platform for electronic music. I want the label to be known for its unique releases and provide a home for both established and emerging artists. I also want to build a strong community around the label where artists and fans can interact and support each other.
Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive impact on the music scene and leave a lasting mark through my music and the contributions of Riot Recordings.
